Case Study

We were approached by Moss Studio to design a natural swimming pool that would complement their client's 200-year-old farmhouse in Kent. Situated in a conservation area, the pool needed to reflect the formal layout of the house while echoing the garden design of the era.

Concept Plan

Our solution was a rectangular swim zone, 15m long and 4m wide, flanked by two regeneration zones, allowing the client to swim surrounded by water plants. The regeneration zone wraps around the base of the pool, enhancing the natural feel.

Natural Pool Jetty

A central jetty invites swimmers to dive in and enjoy the pool's generous length. A Siberian larch walkway runs along the pool, concealing the skimmers, which were carefully positioned to align with the prevailing winds.

Pool Decking

At the pool's corner, a decked sun trap provides a perfect lounging spot, cleverly hiding the filtration system while offering views across the pool to the countryside beyond.

House and Natural Swimming Pool

Located just steps from the patio, the pool creates a stunning vista from the house, with panoramic reflections that shift with the seasons. Native marginal plants soften the pool's formal edges, blending it beautifully into the surrounding landscape and making it a serene addition to this historic property.
