Chester’s Journey with Ellicar

Chester’s journey with us started when he was still a teenager, lending a hand with natural pool maintenance on weekends. His love for landscaping and natural pool building truly blossomed during the lockdown when, at the age of 19, he worked on one of our flagship projects—the Southwell natural pool. Here, Chester got hands-on experience working with our expert team, developing skills in excavation, pool lining, and deck construction. This experience ignited his passion for creating sustainable outdoor spaces.

After earning his degree in Chemical Engineering, Chester officially joined the family business aged 21. Initially, he specialized in deck construction and technical TPO lining, quickly earning a reputation for his precision and problem-solving skills. Within a year, he was leading his own team of pool builders, managing the construction of some of our most complex projects.

Innovative Projects: Yorkshire Spa and Beyond

Chester’s technical expertise shone brightly when he managed the construction of our first public pool—the Yorkshire Spa. This project was a significant milestone for Ellicar, and at just 22 years old, Chester played a key role in ensuring the pool’s biological filtration system and water hygiene were top-notch. He developed innovative pressure testing methods for the pipework, ensuring flawless hydraulic performance. The Yorkshire Spa continues to thrive under his ongoing management of its water quality and maintenance.

Chester’s Leadership and Innovation

Chester has always been eager to push boundaries and improve our processes. He’s researched new machinery and techniques to streamline installations, from enhancing deck construction to improving the flow rates in our pool filtration systems. His background in chemical engineering gives him a unique edge in implementing cutting-edge biological filtration systems, and he’s introduced water testing methods that allow us to make real-time maintenance decisions on-site.

Chester is not just a technical expert but also an inspiring leader. He mentors our younger staff, trains them in pool construction techniques, and ensures everyone is well-versed in safety protocols. His ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with clients and contractors has earned him widespread praise, and we consistently receive compliments about his professionalism on-site.
